Vinyl and Vibes

Hello fellow vinyl enthusiast! So, what about VibeTheVinyl? I guess this page should really be titled, About Me. My name is Scott and at the moment I’m the sole owner and operator of this site. My story is not uncommon. I’m a Gen-Xer who after 35 years of learning, thriving and surviving in the corporate world, decided it was time for a change. I was ready to leave the 9 to 5 and focus my energy on something that brought me more joy.

My love affair with all things vinyl records related is relatively new. I started down the path in an organic fashion. I began collecting mid-century barware, mostly glassware, several years ago drawn to the color and vibe of the period. As my collection grew, I needed a way to store and display my treasures which sent me down the mid-century furniture rabbit hole. That quickly led to my turning my family’s seldomly used formal dining room into a mid century lounge for displaying my collection. Of course that space had to have a turntable…. that was the turning point and I was immediately hooked on vinyl. It’s become the central focus of the treasures added to my collection ever since.

Which bring us here today. My goal is to learn, educate, and share as I progress down the road as a vinyl collector and enthusiast. This site is my contribution to the community.
